The programme offers:
- Two specialist pathways

- A Master's Dissertation or a professional internship in the third semester
- A combination of academic seminars and practice-based workshops taught by university faculty and experienced professionals
- Credits recognised according to the applicable academic framework
- A flexible timetable with weekend classes and online teaching
- The opportunity to select modules across both specialist pathways:
- Creative Writing and Theatrical Adaptation
- Applications of Creative Writing and Culture Industries
The programme is open to graduates from all academic disciplines who wish to develop expertise in creative writing, particularly theatre writing, adaptation, dramaturgy, translation, editing and editorial practices within the cultural and creative industries, including cultural organisations, theatres, festivals, professional arts organisations, municipal cultural institutions, and related bodies. It also addresses the educational and social applications of creative writing.
Tuition Fee Waivers
Students enrolled in the Master's Programme may be exempt from tuition fees, provided that they simultaneously satisfy the academic, financial, and social eligibility criteria established by Greek legislation.
Eligibility Requirements
Academic Criterion
Applicants must hold a first degree with a minimum final grade of 7.5/10 (or the equivalent level of academic excellence).
Financial and Social Criteria
Applicants must also meet the income thresholds established by current legislation. At the time of publication these include:
- an individual taxable income not exceeding €10,050; and
- a family taxable income within the limits prescribed by law.
Eligibility is assessed according to the applicable legal framework in force at the time of application.
Important Information
The number of students receiving a tuition fee waiver may not exceed 30% of the total number of enrolled students in each academic year.
Where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available places, fee waivers are awarded according to a ranking based on the statutory criteria.
Applicants may use the online eligibility calculator developed by the University of the Aegean to obtain an initial indication of whether they may qualify for a tuition fee waiver.
Applications for a fee waiver may only be submitted after admission to the Master's Programme has been confirmed.
The Department (or, in the case of interdepartmental programmes, the Programme Committee) examines each application and issues a reasoned decision approving or rejecting the request.
A tuition fee waiver may be granted for only one Master's programme offered by a Greek Higher Education Institution and does not apply to postgraduate programmes offered outside Greece.
Supporting Documents for Tuition Fee Waiver Applications
Applicants may be required to submit:
- a completed application form (which also serves as a statutory declaration);
- documentation confirming the grade awarded for the first degree, where this is not clearly stated on the degree certificate;
- copies of recent tax returns and tax assessment notices for the applicant and, where applicable, members of the applicant's family, as required by Greek legislation;
- a recent certificate of family status;
- certificates of study for dependent family members where applicable;
- disability certification issued by the competent public authorities, where relevant;
- death certificate(s) of a deceased parent, where applicable;
- divorce certificate, where applicable;
- a statutory declaration confirming that the applicant has not previously received a tuition fee waiver for another Greek Master's programme under the relevant legislation and is not simultaneously receiving another scholarship covering tuition fees.
The Department may request additional documentation where required by law.
Important Notice
As supporting documentation requirements may change, applicants are strongly advised to consult both the Programme Secretariat and the official Programme website before submitting their application.
Further information is available in the relevant Greek legislation governing postgraduate tuition fee exemptions.
