Academic Advisors
Article 27. Academic Advisor
To enhance the quality of the Master's Programme, the Department has established the role of the Academic Advisor, placing students at the centre of the educational experience and recognising the important contribution that academic guidance can make to both their studies and future professional development.
The Academic Advisor's primary role is to guide and support postgraduate students throughout their studies, helping them to organise their academic work effectively and successfully complete the programme. The Advisor also seeks to identify any academic or personal challenges that may affect students' progress and, where appropriate, to recommend or facilitate measures to address them.
The Academic Advisor further aims to:
- support students throughout their academic journey;
- strengthen communication between students and teaching staff;
- encourage active participation in the academic life of the Programme and the University; and
- contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.
Academic Advisors are appointed at the beginning of each academic year. Their appointment normally extends for the duration of the relevant student cohort, ensuring continuity of academic guidance throughout the programme.
For further information regarding the Academic Advisor Scheme, students are encouraged to consult the Regulations Governing the Academic Advisor Scheme.
